2013 Piano Guild Auditions

All the students who attended Piano Guild Auditions this afternoon did very well – in fact, they all got a SUPERIOR, or Superior Minus rating. THAT’S AWESOME! Some really nice things were written about all the students. They all hit what Guild calls the “Citywide Circle” rating, which means that their preparation shows that her/his playing is sufficiently polished or outstanding to make them a possible selectee to represent their school in a citywide or countywide concert (sort of like our annual piano recital!)

Congratulations to Bobby, who had our HIGH SCORE – 26. For all scores, please visit our 2013 Piano Guild page.

All the students who attended were AMAZING (as are the rest of you)!

Parents of participation students – please come inside at the beginning of lessons next week so I can present the certificates, report cards and pins and explain the scoring.

Thanks, everyone – for such awesome support. It’s going to be a FUN SUMMER!!

Recital DVD & Upcoming Events

The DVD will be available in February, but I need to collect the money within the next two weeks. DVDs can now be ordered as follows:

  • 1 for $12
  • 2 for $18
  • 3 for $24
  • 4 for $30
  • each add’l, add $6

PIANO GUILD AUDITIONS memorized applications are as follows:

  • District – 4 Pieces (4) $27
  • State – 7 Pieces (5+2) $29
  • National – 10 Pieces (8+2) $31 IE $35

The +2 means that you can substitute Transposition and Sight Reading for a song in those levels. Right now we don’t necessarily have to determine WHAT we are playing, but we do have to determine HOW MANY we are playing. Applications will be going home this week. A copy has also been emailed to you all today.

PIANO SHOWCASE applications will also be going home next week to those students who have already received the copy of Level Two: “Menuet en Rondeau” several months ago.

  • Registration is $10.

All DVD orders and event applications must be turned in by the week of Jan 29/30/31, please.

Cookie Sales – Another Huge Success!!

Our participating students earned a combined total of over $200 in brand new music of their choice. The students also helped to raise money to support our 21st Anniversary Recital this January with complete success. They have collected enough funds to cover many of our show’s expenses, allowing us to open our show to the public with FREE ADMISSION for all who wish to attend.

Sophie
Grace

Congratulations to our top seller, Sophie! 83 Dozen!!

Her family helped to single-handedly earn over $250 for recital expenses, at the same time earning Sophie an incredibly large pile of new books to play.

Grace’s efforts came in second place! 33.5 Dozen!

Her family was able to earn over $100 toward our upcoming recital, as well earning Grace five new books!

We would like to thank the community for their support and would also like to send a little smile to the second shift at HMAC who are going to be crawling the walls on October 23rd after digging into their 166 boxes of cookies!!

Piano Guild 2012
